11TH Session of the Human Rights Council - Geneva, Switzerland

The 11th session of Human Rights Council will take place next month, 2nd -18th June 2009 at the Palais of Nations, Geneva.

The agenda foresees a full day's discussion on women's human rights on Thursday 04th June, at which issues of violence and trafficking of women will be considered. Furthermore, the Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women will give her report.

In the UPR, African countries expected to make their reports are Senegal, Nigeria, Cameron and Djibouti.

The session will be presided by H.E. Mr. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi (Nigeria) and co-chaired with H.E. Mr. Elchin Amirbayov (Azerbaijan), H.E. Mrs. Erlinda F. Basilio (Philippines), H.E. Mr. Alberto J. Dumont (Argentina) and H.E. Mr. Marius Grinius (Canada).
