Debriefing Session with Grant Officers Opportunity for Idea Exchange

Representatives from the Government of the Netherlands came to visit the Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) International Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland for a debriefing session with the Executive Director and the office staff. Margaret Verwijk is the Deputy Head of the Gender Equality Division in the Ministry for Development Cooperation. She and her colleague Hugo de Vries collected feedback on the grant FAS received from the Ministry between 2004 and 2007.

Bineta Diop, Executive Director of FAS, was invited to give feedback on the grants reporting and evaluation methods. The three-year funding was used primarily to set up FASs Dakar Regional Office and its programs at the Pan-African Centre for Gender Peace and Development. The meeting with was very helpful for FAS, since Ms. Verwijk and Mr. de Vries, from their donor standpoint, made suggestions on where the organization can continue to secure similar funding in the future.
